Valencia International – By Tara Biart
On the 31st of March, the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) will be celebrating the Women TechMakers conference in Valencia, a collection of tech talks presented by women. The goal is to emphasise the role of women in the field. Along with Marta Garrido, Software Tester in Flywire, 14 other women will be talking about technology security, intelligent tourism, marketing, new technologies applied to sports, programming and artificial intelligence.
The conference is free and has already been celebrated more than 200 times in 52 countries around the world. The goal is to provide visibility, community and resources for women in technology in honour of women’s International Day.
Marta Garrido will speak about the importance of investing in diversity and empathy in agile teams. Her goal is to encourage companies to value other abilities that are not only technical, such as soft skills, but to encourage diversity in order to create better teams and a more just society.
