The Opportunity: 

Flywire thrives on developing and bringing innovative payments solutions to market and believes that building and operating an outstanding company goes hand-in-hand with acting responsibly, ethically and in a compliant manner at all times. To support our continued growth, while also continuing to evolve our existing global legal and compliance framework, Flywire seeks a dedicated Paralegal with a passion for legal operations to join our Boston office.  

This will be a varied role working within our Legal team, with a focus on being the liaison between in-house counsel and internal stakeholders throughout the client contracting process for the company’s education business vertical. The role will also include managing Flywire’s corporate entities in the Americas and Europe, assisting with due diligence requests, and ensuring that appropriate record keeping practices are in place to support efficient operation of the Legal Department as the business expands geographically and offers new products and services. Experience in quickly understanding new ideas and concepts, superb organizational skills, a passion for process improvement, and strong communication skills are required.

  • Serve as the first point-of-contact for contract matters relating to the company’s education business vertical, with the possibility of expanding into other business verticals
  • Review, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements and RFPs under the supervision of in-house counsel following standardized contract templates
  • Maintain corporate records for all Flywire entities in Americas and Europe and prepare resolutions, powers of attorney, appointments, and other documents as needed
  • Ensure that legal entities in Americas and EMEA file required reports and pay required fees and franchise taxes to remain in good standing
  • Manage, populate and keep current the directors/officers database
  • Coordinate notarization and Apostille of documents as needed
  • Serve as the point of intake for audit, due diligence, bank, and other third party requests for documentation and completion of questionnaires
  • Perform ad hoc legal research, prepare memoranda summarizing findings, and provide general administrative support for the legal department

Here’s What We’re Looking For:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification
  • 2 years of professional experience in a business operations-oriented role, or 2 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred
  • Understanding of financial services, payments and/or privacy laws (GDPR, FERPA, HIPAA) a plus
  • Experience in corporate governance and project management a plus
  • Trustworthy and proven ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model, between the Boston office and remote
