With over 500 FlyMates distributed across 12 offices world-wide and representing more than 32 nationalities, we’re looking for FlyMates to join the next stage of our journey as we continue to grow.
The Opportunity:
To support Flywire's growth, we are seeking a talented and passionate individual to manage our efforts in Lithuania, with a compliance and regulatory knowledge base or background a strong plus. The role will liaise very closely with the broader legal, regulatory, compliance and risk functions (especially in Europe) – as well as with global payments, finance and product teams. There is likely to be multiple reporting functions – one inherent to the regulated Lithuanian entity, and the other to the Assistant General Counsel in Boston.
This will be a varied role leading a small team, with a focus on being our point of contact for Lithuanian related matters, ensuring the business runs smoothly, with all local requirements being met and working closely with the wider team located globally. Key responsibilities include:
- Own in-country efforts and serve as principal point of contact and locally-responsible person for our local regulator - the Bank of Lithuania
- Maintain awareness and stay on top of developments in regulatory requirements and formulate policies suitable for the company through working closely with the global team. Taking the lead in formulating and monitoring compliance with policies suitable to meet local requirements
- Coordinate and work with local lawyers, accountants and tax experts in order to business operates smoothly
- Work with internal teams to ensure local requirements are included in planning and roadmaps for product and operational development
- Support local governance efforts through using internal systems to prepare reports, metrics and manage information
- Coach, and work with, other members of the compliance team to ensure that best practices are followed
- Support business growth through risk assessment of new products, services and geographic regions
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- A background in an innovative payments business, card processing, financial institution or law firm
- Knowledge of the EU payments regulatory framework and/or regulations from other regions specific to payments is beneficial
- An understanding of financial regulations and/or AML laws is highly advantageous
- Ability to lead by example and provide directional guidance to staff
- Able to or organise workload to meet deadlines and able to manage competing and sometimes changing priorities
- Experience in leading projects, quickly understanding new ideas and concepts
- A proven track record of execution and delivery of tasks through to completion
- Attention to detail with an ability to execute tasks within a small and flexible team is a must
- International experience a plus
- Fluency in written and spoken English
