The Opportunity
We, at Flywire, are seeking a Security Operations Engineer to be part of our Information Security team ensuring security of information systems, monitoring events and alerts, performing vulnerability scanning, managing issues and incidents and performing other security-related tasks.
- Analyze Security events and issues from a response perspective.
- Contribute to the configuration, integration and improvement of Security tools (EDR, SIEM, SOAR, IRP, DLP, VulnManager…)
- Support with Implementation and deployment of new security tools in the environment
- Support implementing new security projects.
- Monitor events for suspicious activities, prioritize events, perform investigation and escalate cases.
- Propose exceptions and operational improvements in playbooks and systems.
- Monitor and research current industry security emerging threat metrics, technology best practices and tools.
- Perform vulnerability management tasks as assessment scans and reports.
- Management of security systems (EDR, SIEM, SOAR, IRP…).
- Collaborate with Information Technology and Engineering departments.
- Maintain dashboards and collect metrics and reports on vulnerability findings, security events and alerts.
- Support compliance and audit inquiries.
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in application, network and/or system security.
- Knowledge about malware, electronic fraud, computer intrusion, identity theft, denial of services and other potential security threats.
- Knowledge about security principles, techniques and technologies.
- Knowledge cybersecurity, resilience, business continuity, cryptography, log monitoring, OS security and network security.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (ruby, bash, python…)
- Have worked in at least two of these solutions:
- Experience with SIEM solutions (Sumologic, Splunk, Intellitactics, etc.).
- Experience with Vulnerability scanners (NESSUS, Tenable.io, Qualys, etc.).
- Experience with incident response.
- Experience with firewalls, IPS and IDS solutions (Suricata, Wazuh, OSSEC, etc.)
- Experience in understanding cloud environments
- Predisposition and knowledge automation of detection, remediation and collection processes.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Prioritize tasks effectively.
- A proven capability in written and spoken English is essential; other language skills are useful.
