The challenge
For Expert Education, supporting students and their families with international payments was extremely challenging. Each university had differing payment instructions, and, across the board, there were few payment methods or local currency options available from which students could choose. For some, for example Nepali students, navigating complex government and bank procedures made international payments particularly difficult. But, for everyone, check, wire and bank transfer payments were slow, and lacked transparency. Neither Counselors or students could see how payments were progressing or had any notification when they arrived with universities. While card payments were sometimes offered by universities, many students and their families were concerned about fraud and so hesitated to share their card details.
