FlyMates already know Flywire is one the best companies to work for – and now, Inc. has made it official. For the first time in our 10 year history, Flywire made the Inc. Best Workplaces 2022 list.
Flywire is one of 475 companies nationwide to earn Inc.’s highest honor. We’re one of only 24 companies on the list in Massachusetts, where our headquarters is located, and one of two Massachusetts-based financial services companies.
Employee input forms the major criteria to earn a spot on Inc.’s list, something thousands of companies vie for. Employees answer a comprehensive survey that includes dozens of questions to gauge their perceptions of their employer. The questions look beyond perks to workplace culture, including manager support, trust in senior leadership, empowerment to decide how work gets done, and fair treatment regardless of race, gender, age, ethnic background, disability, sexual orientation, or other differences. Each organization’s benefits were also audited to determine overall score and ranking.
As a result, companies on Inc.’s list do far more than just check boxes when it comes to enabling flexibility and remote work, but actively foster and evolve their cultures to prioritize taking care of their people – physically and psychologically, according to Inc.’s report. For this reason, they’ve found new paths to growth – and are consistently employers of choice in a highly competitive market.
Inc. pointed to Flywire’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion through ally training, guest speakers and support groups. Flywire called out as part of its submission that “as an international organization with offices in cultural capitals around the world, diversity, equity, and inclusion are our top priorities. We are committed to building workplace equity and providing high-quality, culturally sensitive support for employees.”
Inc. also recognized Flywire’s innovative commitment to remote work – which includes regular, generous remote work stipends, and opportunities to foster cross-departmental collaboration and friendships with offsites at a Maine ski lodge.
