In March 2022, Flywire hosted a regional gathering for a small group of FlyMates (Flywire employees) that I was lucky enough to be part of. Myself, along with a group of 26 FlyMates worked remotely together for 3 days.

This provided an opportunity for in-person collaboration and some much needed socializing and an opportunity to meet our new FlyMates from our recent acquisition of WPM. We followed all regulations in the U.K. and each person was tested for COVID-19 each morning. We did a wine tasting, dinner and then disco at night. Some FlyMates did pilates and yoga, and we also did an escape room activity. The weather was amazing and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor space to work, take walks, eat lunch, and more.

Take a look at what our experience was like!

In our eyes, there are aspects of work that happen when people are physically together that you just can’t replace on screen. It builds stronger connections that carry people through tough times.

Our CEO Mike Massaro said, “Flywire will continue to replicate this type of gathering around the world. We need to be careful, follow guidance in each region, and make sure people feel completely safe, but it’s an important part of who we are as a company.”
