The Opportunity

We, at Flywire, are seeking a Compliance Senior Manager/Manager to join the Compliance team in the region. The role will report to the APAC Compliance Officer. This will be a varied role working within our Compliance team, developing new work processes to support both the changing regulatory environment and the expansion of the business into new verticals. Experienced in leading projects, quickly understanding new ideas and concepts, knowledge of payments licensing, exemption and reporting requirements, and a background in financial compliance and knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML, and other regulations is required.)

  • Advise on licensing and AML regulations
  • Conceptualize from end to end and effectively operationalize the requisite compliance frameworks, manuals and processes
  • Own and manage the APAC licensing/registration process, including all ongoing maintenance work
  • Monitor and escalate regulatory changes in APAC
  • Analyze regulatory changes and provide the appropriate responses to remain compliant
  • Assess regulatory gaps and work with relevant stakeholders to close the identified gaps
  • Assist on corporate governance matters of local entities and registrations in APAC
  • Assist in maintaining the APAC regulatory metrics and schedules (including AML/CFT programs and Compliance policies)
  • Make regulatory filings -- including suspicious activity reports (SARs)
  • Manage and investigate transaction alerts and escalate accordingly
  • Assist on audit requests from both external and governmental stakeholders
  • Represent the company adequately with regulators
  • Work on any miscellaneous projects issues in the APAC region as directed by the APAC Compliance Officer, including those pertaining to partner audits, client onboarding, product enhancements and integration

Here’s What We’re Looking For: 

  • 7-14+ years of experience in compliance for financial services
  • Knowledge of payments regulatory frameworks and/or other financial regulations
  • Familiarity with global KYC, UBO and AML standards (eg. source of financial support, ultimate ownership)
  • Understanding of trigger points and content of SARs
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; global collaborator with strong communications skills
  • Able to work independently and lead by example and provide directional guidance to other FlyMates
  • Able to lead project team members and influence stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to execute tasks within a small and flexible team
  • Able to organize workload to meet tight deadlines and manage competing and sometimes changing priorities
  • Proven track record of execution and delivery of tasks through to completion
