I'm Nigel Hack, I run a travel company called Madrid & Beyond which is a luxury travel agency for Spain and Portugal. We arrange customized vacations for couples, families, small groups. We aim to do very insider specialist trips for all these people.
Prior to working with Flywire, we were very old fashioned with the way we charged clients. We were pretty much using the same system we've been doing for 20 years. So, we were on a lookout for a different payment platform for clients to pay us for a long time. So when Flywire came to picture, we were all ears.
Flywire has a system that reminds the payer automatically one month before travel that the second payment is due and that's it. We can see very clearly on the Flywire app who has paid, whether the funds have been received. It's all very, very easy, very contemporary and saves me all those worries I had before. And it makes us look good with regards to our clients, the travel agencies and the travelers as well.
With the credit card, the authorization form that we used to send out, the banks would charge credit card fees. We pay 2.2% on every single transaction. So yeah, a big chunk of profits disappeared into the bank. With Flywire, now we receive exactly what we invoice and therefore we make a big saving on all sales.
